About Library

The heart of an educational institution is its library, which is considered as the storehouse of knowledge. It functions as a window through which the external world can be viewed for the extension of the boundary of knowledge.

The central library of our institution is in the main building of the institution covering the ground floor of the building area nearly 3520 Sq.ft. It is fully ventilated. It has a separate, spacious and well equipped reference hall to accommodate 60 – 70 students at a time. There is a separate wing for girl’s students and faculty members. One more room has been provided for reading daily news papers and periodicals. In an another room old books have been stored (stack room.)

1. 80% of the library functions have been digitalized. The remaining work is in progress.
2. Computers have been added to provide quick & efficient access.
3. Internet facility has been provided for the benefit of the students and faculty members.
4. At present there are 46,843 books covering all streams, 11 journals, all leading Kannada and English dailies, weeklies and monthlies are subscribed.

Library is kept open as follows:

Monday to Friday - 9 A.M to 6 P.M
Saturday - 9 A.M to 2 P.M
During examinations - 8 A.M to 6 P.M
On holidays & Vacation - 10 A.M to 1 P.M

The following working system is followed in the library

- Two books are issued to each student for own reading
- Two books are issued for reference in the reference hall
- Book banks for SC/ST and socially / economically backward section of the students.
- Additional books are issued to the top ten scorers in the examination in each programme.
- One time issue of books for physically challenged students is followed.
